CIC bioGUNE

At CIC bioGUNE we are working to give research in the Basque Country an international focus, incorporating foreign researchers at all levels and strengthening international cooperation since,nowadays, excellence is defined in global terms.

At present,CIC bioGUNE has around 100 researchers from more than ten countries. During 2005 and 2006, CIC bioGUNE has implemented the Genomics, Proteomics and Metabolomics Technological Platforms and the Animal Facility, and during 2007 it will also start the Gene Silencing Platform.

At the end of 2006, development of the Structural Biology Platform was completed, remarkable facilities with the most up-to-date equipment for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Electronic Microscopy and X-Ray Diffraction in Spanish Territory, corresponding to an investment of other 13 million. This Structural Biology Platform will be available to the scientific community as a whole and will also encourage researchers and companies in the Basque Country to use state-of-the-art techniques of structural biology.
